Genesis Covenant

As you know, at our annual meeting, Emmanuel adopted the Genesis covenant, which commits us as a congregation to being mindful of the fragility of our earth and working to preserve it.To that end, we have formed a committee. One of our goals is to reduce our carbon foot-print by 50%. To that end, we are looking at both our buildings and our own actions as a congregation. We are gathering information both by a careful inspection of the buildings and a survey of the congregation. In addition to reducing carbon emissions in connection with the buildings, we are also talking about an educational component, specifically educating people on organic gardening. We are in the very beginning stages of this project and would welcome any and all input, as well as additional members of the committee. If you are interested in assisting with this project, please call the church office.
