12-2 Rector's Forum & Holy Eucharist

You are Invited to Join in!

The Rector's Forum

Ongoing Adult Christian Education with an emphasis on the study of scripture and theological reflection is the purpose of The Rector’s Forum.  Meeting weekly on Thursday from noon to 2 p.m., all members of the Parish and community are invited and encouraged to attend and bring a sandwich to this “brown bag” gathering.  The Forum concludes with a service for healing and the Holy Eucharist.

A typical Thursday begins with opening prayers, a review/critique of the previous Sunday’s sermon and an in-depth study and reflection on the lessons for the upcoming Sunday.  Openness, candor, honest questioning and a spirit of inquiry are the hallmarks of this group.  While scripture and theological education are the primary emphasis, the liturgical calendar, to include a discussion of the Church seasons and particular saints and Holy Days, is observed and discussed.

While the Rector, who taught for many years at our Episcopal seminaries in Sewanee, Tennessee and New York City, is the primary teacher, Cathy Clemens also teaches Hebrew scripture as a way to deepen our understanding of the link between the Old and New Testaments.

Join us for serious conversation, wonderful fellowship, sharing the Eucharist and lots of laughter and fun.
